Second Annual Old Town Salsa Fiesta with City-sponsored salsa bands 10 am to 9 pm, salsa dancing and demonstrations, a "best salsa" competition and more. Salsa competition judges include Mayor Martin Chavez. Other dignitaries will be present, and Los Rumberos, a salsa dance group from Highlands University, will both perform live and offer salsa demos/lessons to the public. The event benefits Assistance League of Albuquerque's "Kids Are Pretty Special" (KAPS) program that serves the area's at-risk children who are taken abruptly from their homes by supplying diapers, clothing, toys and toiletries for the transition period. A silent auction will be held at Blue Portal on Church Street featuring high-value gifts available to the highest bidder. All day "hot salsa" music and dancing, great-tasting salsa and lots of fun for all ages. The public can purchase a wristband for $5 which allows them take part in the salsa tasting. Hours for the salsa competition on Church Street are 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
