The Annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of Long Island, established to promote cultural awareness of the Asian community and celebrate the diversity of Long Island’s population, will be held at Stony Brook's Charles B. Wang Center, which is celebrating its 5th Anniversary in 2008.
Featured will be multi-cultural booth displays, arts and crafts, live music, costumes, paintings/photo exhibits, dance presentations, movies, lectures, corporate displays, an Asian Market, a Tea Ceremony, and art and movement workshops including paper cutting, origami, basket weaving, “parol making” and Kung Fu. In the evening there will be a performance by renowned Asian artists, followed by a “Taste of Asia” VIP Reception, the Presentation of Awards, and raffle drawings for some spectacular prizes.
Bring the entire family. FREE admission from 1-6 PM. Multi-cultural presentation shows begin at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Evening events begin at 6 PM with the stage performance. Admission is $10 for the performance, $20 for the "Taste of Asia" VIP Reception, Awards Presentation and Raffle Drawing. Those who purchase tickets for both will pay only $25.
