Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra June 21, 2009

SRJO celebrates of one of the greatest American composers of the 20th century. Stan Kenton's unique sound emerged during the 1950s as part of the West Coast "cool school" that combined contemporary European techniques with the harmonies and swing of jazz. Selections include Artistry in Rhythm, Opus in Pastels, The End of a Love Affair, and Intermission Riff. SRJO also presents special guest soloists selected from some of the award-winning high school bands of the area.
