"Achingly painful and suddenly tender, Robin Holcomb's songs mirror a beguiling, bewildering world," hails Rolling Stone. A composer, pianist and singer Holcomb will perform new music with bassist Geoff Harper and saxophonist Hans Teuber. Holcomb "has created a new American regionalism, spun from many threads - country rock, minimalism, Civil War songs, Baptist hymns, Appalachian folk tunes, even the polytonal music of Charles Ives. The music that results is as elegantly simple as a Shaker quilt, and no less beautiful." raves The New York Times.
The event is part of Seattle Presents, a year-round series of free performances at City Hall presented by the Mayor's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.
