The Seattle Flickrites, one of the largest photography meetups in the world, is hosting an open photostroll at the Fremont Solstice Parade, this Saturday, June 16!
The Seattle Flickrites meetup was founded in July 2005 and has grown to over 550 members. Every third Saturday of the month, we host an open, family-friendly photostroll in which we walk a location in the Puget Sound region and photograph it, then meet for dinner afterwards. Every last Thursday of the month, we host our Brews 'n' Views event, an adult-targeted drink night out. We usually have 30-50 people show up at any given event, many of them new to our group or to Seattle. We also host photography master classes and a number of Member-Sponsored Events each month. Photos from these events are posted on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/groups/seattlemeetups/
All ages, all levels of photography expertise are welcome at our events. Young, old, wild, shy...you'll find them at a Flickrites event!
Given that the 3rd Saturday of the month in June will be the same day as the Solstice Parade in Fremont, it only makes sense that the Flickrites descend upon it! Full details to come. More info on the fair and parade can be found at: http://www.fremontfair.com/

This is the ultimate in expression of the wild and free spirit of the Fremont neighborhood. From painted bicycle riders (wearing nothing but the paint) to unusual floats, this is a parade like no other. And besides just the parade, there's the fair in general, with live music, food, goods for sale, and a lot more.
The parade starts at 12, so we can all gather a bit before that and stake out some good positions along the route.
There will likely be a gathering at a local restaurant or pub afterwards for food, drinks and silliness.
