Bringing back quality, integrity and community to live theater.
Often live theater attempts to ‘shock and awe’ to attract an audience. What has happened to the honestly written scene and the raw talent that is demanded to portray it? What about acts that broaden cultural awareness?
Eileen Dey, M.A. Artistic Director for the Seattle Cold Readers is answering Seattle’s need for a new kind of show: Low-cost, high quality live theatrical acts. Each month, for only $6 admission, patrons can watch professional actors perform locally submitted scripts as if they were at a live audition. In between acts folk singers, tap dancers, jugglers, magicians and the like entertain. The end of the evening, the audience votes on the best performance. Awards and door prizes complete the night.
