Seal emerged from England's house music scene in the early '90s to become the most popular British soul vocalist of the decade. By the mid-'90s he had created a distinctive fusion of soul, folk, pop, dance, and rock that brought him success on both sides of the Atlantic. The son of Nigerian and Brazilian parents who was raised in England, Seal is a three-time Grammy® Award-winning Afro-European soul vocalist and songwriter best known for "Prayer for the Dying," "Newborn Friend" and the 1996 Grammy® Award-winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year, "Kiss From a Rose."
