You can read about something, but it's only when you see it in action that you really 'get it'.
As a follow-on to last September's successful meeting 'Starting a company for under $1,000', this month you're invited to give a short demo of a tool, service, or process you use in your start-up. You'll have 5+ minutes to show off something you use every day, and in turn you'll have a chance to see what other founders use. There will be a laptop projector and wifi, although to be safe you might want to bring screenshots too.
Sign up on the wiki http://startupsig.pbwiki.com where there are some suggested demos, but you're free to present whatever you'd like.
Besides technical tools, you can show business documents and processes, blacking out any confidential information.
Ideas: wiki for project management, MySQL tools, Eclipse, web stats reports, provisional patent application, Google AdWords plan. More on the wiki.
We'll do as many of these as possible, shooting for 10 or so. They can be short, maybe 3 slides or less. Just so we get the idea of how the tool or process works: so we 'get it'.
$15 at the door for non-SDForum members, no charge for SDForum members.
