The Story of New Mexico program through UNM Continuing Education is offering the Santa Fe Current by Colette Hosmer Tour Wednesday, July 29 from 10am-6pm. For $85 attendants will travel to Santa Fe to view Colette Hosmer’s Santa Fe Current, which utilizes multiple forms of Rio Grande Cutthroat trout to simulate flowing water. This sculpture was chosen for the Santa Fe Civic Center Public Art Project. Twenty seven carved granite fish (each two feet by three and a half feet) analogizes Santa Fe as a stream - fluid, vital, and forward moving. Colette will show her magnificent piece of art, as well as two of her monumental sculptures installed outside of her gallery in the railyard. The fee includes travel and guide. The group will have lunch in Santa Fe before returning. To register or for more information visit http://dce.unm.edu/story-of-new-mexico.htm or call 277-0563.
