September 24 30 is Take A Child Outside Week, a program designed to help break down obstacles that keep children from discovering the natural world. Come to Prairie Ridge and venture out with naturalists to explore a variety of habitats including a piedmont prairie, an arboretum and a pond-all right here within the city limits! Walks will begin approximately every 30 minutes, with the last walk beginning at 6 pm. Visit our Nature Neighborhood garden and enjoy hands-on activities in our "green" outdoor classroom. All ages are welcome; children 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
