Scott Hamilton emerged as a unique jazz artist in the 1970s. He was one of the few musicians of real talent who played in the tradition of the classic jazz tenor saxophone established by Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, Zoot Sims and Don Byas. Few other young players during the fusion era were exploring pre-bop jazz at his high level. Hamilton has mostly performed as a leader, sometimes sharing the spotlight with Warren Vache, Ruby Braff, Rosemary Clooney, the Concord Jazz All-Stars, or George Wein's Newport Jazz Festival All-Stars.
Joining Hamilton and Vuckovich will be an astonishing lineup of Bay Area Jazz greats: Kenny Washington, vocals, Erik Jekabson, trumpet; Jeff Chambers, bass; Chuck McPherson, drums
