ArtZone 461 Gallery presents SCIENCE FUSION, our first two-person show in the Main Gallery of Linda Raynsford sculptures and Adam Cahoon paintings. The concepts expressed in these works represent tangible elements of the machinations of global connectivity: mechanic, biological and interpersonal. This complementary paring in April showcases two artists unaware of each other at the start of the year.
Linda Raynsford works in metal: cutting, welding, grinding and polishing it. Adam Cahoon is an oil painter. Both artists use similar imagery such as spheres, spirals and disks in a context of motion and space. They may be seen as a conversation between two and three dimensions discussing space, form and time. They represent an approach to depicting the passage of time not merely looking back or forward; now their concern includes seeing within and beyond.
Linda Raynsford received her Bachelor of Arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1983. Adam Cahoon graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2003. This is their first solo / two-person show at ArtZone 461.
