SCI-FI-LONDON is the UK’s leading genre event and an internationally recognised launch pad for genre movies. At each festival we have at least a dozen UK premieres.
The festival is now in its 9th year and will take place Wed 28th April – Mon 3rd May 2010 at The Apollo Piccadilly Circus Cinema, London’s most luxurious cinema.
Star Wars didn’t only happen a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, it’s also happening now. With 50% of the satellites orbiting our planet owned by the US government and US corporations they have a vested interest in protecting them. If they were attacked they would cause the collapse of society as we know it.
All the world’s super powers want to protect their interests in outer space but, as we saw during the Cold War, the line between offence and defence is blurred and we are entering into a new arms race.
This documentary examines this 21st century space race, with unprecedented access to US government agencies and space development corporations springing up in the US. It is not a polemic, but a balanced view of what is happening outside the Earth’s atmosphere.
This must-see doc certainly puts a question mark after Life in 2050.
