Following their sold-out tour to area schools in Putnam and surrounding counties, Cookeville Children’s Theatre will present their spring touring show Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr! to the public at Dogwood Park on Friday, May 1st at 6pm and Saturday, May 2nd at 1pm, 3pm, and 6pm. What began in the early 1970’s as a hit Emmy award-winning television series that taught history, math, grammar, science and politics through fun, exciting, and not to mention catchy songs is now a popular stage production. Parents, who grew up in the seventies, can reminisce about the hit Emmy award-winning television series, singing and dancing to motivating tunes, such as “Just a Bill” and “Do the Circulation”, while their children are introduced to the engaging characters who bring these songs to life! This performance is free to the public, and is appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Donations are always appreciated! Bring your lawn-chairs, blankets, and even a picnic lunch, and join us for an afternoon or evening of fun!”
