The Sayaka Inka Cultural Group are descendants from the Sayaka Inka village in Puno Peru, near the sacred Lake Titicaca. They came to the United States to fulfill a 500 year old prophecy of their people; the Condor would reunite with the Eagle. During their visit in the United States, they have continued to meet with several different indigenous American Tribes to fulfill this prophecy. The final dance will be accomplished in July 2009 where the Condor (the South) and the Eagle (the North) will reunite and dance together.
Through their cultural exchange of dance, music and information of the Group’s village, they are able reach a vast group of people and make connections through the heart, where they truly come from.
Cultural Exchange
The Sayaka Inka Cultural Group would like to do a world-wide cultural exchange through a series of programs that involve art, music, performance, meetings and communication. They would like to share the opportunity to allow others to observe and discuss the culture of the indigenous people of Peru.
Sayaka’s main objective is to reunite the identity of the Inka Empire with the Andean people to prevent ethnic and cultural deterioration. This is what drives the group and makes their current work a reality.
Sayaka Inka’s Music
Sayaka, the big APU (Mountain Spirit), gives full spirituality to all the villages and people through these musicians. Their heritage comes from a great empire which still struggles; this inspires unlimited fortitude by the Sayaka Inka Cultural Group. They hope you find their culture and music enjoyable, stimulating and relaxing.
