http://www.surrealmagic.com/
JordanWright is an accomplished performer with over 15 years of experience performing for a variety of audiences including such notables as Las Vegas casino owner Steve Wynn and Tony Award- winning Broadway director Hal Prince. He uses psychology and showmanship to create a unique experience for the audience. Influence, suggestion, and persuasion are taken to the extreme as the magic is created within the subconscious mind of the audience. Jordan draws on real life experiences and situations of the audience to involve them, giving them something to experience rather than just watch.
Jordan has been featured on stage performing in major cities such as Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Chicago. His Las Vegas performances have graced venues as large as the 6,000-seat Orleans Arena and the elegant Wynn Las Vegas. Most recently, Jordan was the opening act for a major casino show at the Trump Marina Casino in Atlantic City. He was also profiled on the television special Hocus Pocus as part of a feature on top Las Vegas magicians. In addition to performing in different venues across the U.S., Jordan has also performed for crowds of people all over Italy sharing his art around the world. For four years Jordan apprenticed under world-renowned magician Jeff McBride, obtaining knowledge and performance techniques useful for his future in magic. He holds a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and Psychology and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, The Academy of Magical Arts, and the Society of American Magicians. Jordan is also a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship from Rotary International.
JordanWright is a natural in front of crowds, with a riveting stage presence and engaging presentation skills. The unique style that Jordan has brought to magic makes him one of the most sought after performers on the West Coast.
When not performing his specialty, Jordan enjoys painting, acting, and making short films. His recent short film project for Broadway director Harold Prince can be found in the New York Library for the Performing Arts.
Grimehaus Bio:
Grimehaus is Bobbi Le Pin and Arnauld Deuche', two dj's who first met in the summer of 2001. This duo is certain to make their mark offering up a live showcase of their raw talents and stylings with innovative and multi-layered four turntable mix sets. Their grimey, electro floorfillers are complimented by the sounds of whiney hipster vocals and shredding synths. Grimehaus has a distinctive palatablity that soothes the craving of reverse status.
Bobbi Le Pin spent her childhood in the Tropics of Ascension Island, Grand Bahamas and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Coming from a family of mixed culture and heritage (Chinese-Trinidadian and a virtual slew of additional influences), Le Pin is no stranger to musical diversity. This up-and-coming artist's open-mindedness played a pivotal role in the development of her diverse musical taste. Le Pin's wide-eyed approach to music might be rooted in her early exposure to a variety of sounds found in her parents opposing record collections. "I recall being about 4 years old, helping my Mom around our house in the Bahamas. She would have all of this crazy Calypso and Soca music blaring through house... she was always singing along with all of it... anything from Sparrow to my Dad's Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder records." Bobbi's noted influences include key legends such as Prince, Billie Holiday, Derrick Carter, Sneak, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, Deee-lite, A Tribe Called Quest, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and Bjork.
After an introduction to the diverse underground music scene, Le Pin found herself victim of an undeniable attraction with the jackin' Chicago style in the late nineties. "When I first got a taste of it... it just felt so right... something just clicked" An obsession with creating and weaving layers behind the turntables and in the studio soon followed suit. Today, her style has evolved into an indescribable hybrid of techy-funky-dancy-electro-rock.
Beginning in her childhood, Le Pin attained years of private training for various musical instruments, including piano, trumpet, and baritone (a bulky member of the brass family). Naturally, her talents for manipulating these instruments have contributed to the development of her abilities as a dj. An attentive listener on and off the decks, Le Pin possesses an uncanny knack for feeling out what the room is craving; she consistently delivers the perfect musical kick-in-the-pants. As a dj, her articulate mix sets reward discriminating party-goers with a polished-yet-grimey style of floor movers. Bobbi has established herself with quality performances at legendary venues, such as, The Club @ Firestone, Thee Grotto and A.K.A. Lounge and Wall Street Plaza.
Arnauld Deuche' hails from the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. As the son of an Air Force officer, Deuche' has traveled extensively and, in-turn, has been exposed to many cultures and sounds. Throughout his childhood, his family often celebrated holidays with live instruments such as guitars and congas. Deuche's obsessive compulsion with music began when his older brother brought home Michael Jackson's "Thriller" cassette. "I couldn't stop playing it, I kept rewinding it over and over... I was hooked on it!" Other early influences include acts such as Wee Pa Pa Girls, Mr. Lee, Front 242, Finni Tribe, Adamsky, 808 State, Derrick Carter, Sneak and Phil Weeks.
In the mid to late ninetees, the Orlando club scene was inundated with prominent dj's such as Danny Tenaglia, Armand Van Helden, The Good Men, and DJ Vibe. It was this thriving culture that began Arnauld's love of driving tribal NY club house and his fascination with learning to spin records. In 2000, he purchased his first set of Technics and a Vestax mixer. Ever since, his mixing skills and musical style have been influenced by many genres and dj's. As a dj, Deuche' has been constantly evolving and discovering new ways to mix tracks.
His love of funky chi-town jackin' house soon evolved into a hot and heavy relationship with electro house and flings with the ghettotech, synth-pop and banger styles. This diversity is what defines Deuche's signature sound and has led to memorable sets in various after-parties and venues across Florida and Las Vegas.
As the newest additions to Las Vegas based event production collective, Indiekrush, Grimehaus has secured themselves a solid position in the west coast underground scene. This duo's fresh, scene style promises to continue their tradition of captivating the dance floors of the underground movement.
