Saturday The Birds Fell From The Sky
Cameron Fuller & Travis Russell
Opening Reception Friday, March 11 6-10pm
Good Citizen Gallery
March 11 - April 9, 2011
Good Citizen invites you to Saturday The Birds Fell From The Sky an installation by Cameron Fuller and Travis Russell.
The collaborative work of Cameron Fuller and Travis Russell will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at Good Citizen Gallery titled Saturday The Birds Fell From the Sky. The installation will mirror it's title, creating a whimsical, yet apocalyptic, static cinema for the viewer that can be described as a playful meditation on the ironies of our contemporary state of affairs. Drawing from the artists' mutual interest in history, nostalgia, and the un-explainable, the installation will emphasize the boldness of the graphic mark and print-based media. Both artists enjoy exploring various mediums while playing with a vibrant color palette and plan to take this full-throttle into their upcoming show at Good Citizen Gallery.
While completing their MFA's at Washington University in St. Louis, Cameron Fuller and Travis Russell recognized in each other mutual aesthetic and conceptual interests. Since then, they have collaborated on numerous projects, while also working together in various studio spaces. In 2008, the duo presented its first collaborative exhibition titled "Day One At Golden Mountain" at Fort Gondo Compound for the Arts.
