Sarah Horowitz's artist's book, Effigies, draws inspiration from a Paul Auster poem in her production of ink drawings on indigo-dyed paper. The book will dialogue Horowitz's hand-drawn work against a printed reproduction of Auster's original poem. The visual element of the book largely consists of a long sumi ink drawing of a bramble fence that extends over several pages in length. Each of the twenty books in the edition have been re-drawn by Horowitz's hand thus resulting in the creation of twenty unique pieces.
