Sarah Cahill Piano Concert February 14, 2009

Cahill has commissioned a group of composers to write new works envisioning peace, in a project entitled A Sweeter Music after a line from Dr. Martin Luther King's Nobel Lecture: "We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the discords of war." The composers writing for this project include Terry Riley, Meredith Monk, Yoko Ono, Frederic Rzewski, Bernice Johnson Reagon (founder of Sweet Honey in the Rock), Paul Dresher, Pauline Oliveros, and several others.
