Founded by Misao Jo (born in Osaka, Japan in 1913) in 1970, Saori is a contemporary hand weaving technique that utilizes a unique loom that is light, foldable and simple to manage. It is a free-style weaving, without the traditional rules or restrictions, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and levels of experience. Instructor Yukako Satone will offer a hands-on demonstration in which museum visitors may try out the Saori technique.
