Santa Barbara Studio Artists announces the 11th annual Open Studios Tour taking place throughout Santa Barbara from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 2012. Enjoy a self-guided driving tour through Santa Barbara’s stunning back roads and charming neighborhoods to visit the private studios of leading professional artists. Discover an award-winning collection of landscape, contemporary and figurative painting, as well as sculpture and assemblage. A month-long preview exhibition and two special receptions in August are also scheduled as part of the 2012 event festivities.

Schedule of Events:

• August 25 & 26: Open Studios Tour (Main Event)
Santa Barbara Studio Artists (SBSA) Open Studios Tour features a treasure trove of world-class original visual art and a view inside Santa Barbara’s leading artists’ private studios. Maps provided for self-guided driving tour through stunning back roads and estates.
o Date: Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26
o Time: 11 am - 5 pm
o Location: Various locations around the greater Santa Barbara area

• August 2: Preview Exhibition Opening – Viva la Fiesta!
In conjunction with the Downtown Organization's ‘First Thursday’, art collectors and tour participants are invited to attend the Preview Exhibition opening and meet the artists while enjoying food and wine, and strategizing which studios to visit. No ticket purchase necessary to attend.
o Date: Thursday, August 2
o Time: 5 pm - 8 pm
o Location: Santa Barbara Frame Shop and Gallery, 1324 State Street Ste J, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 (Across from Arlington Theatre)

• August 2-29: Month-long Preview Exhibition
The month-long Preview Exhibition features works from the Santa Barbara Studio Artists and gives attendees the opportunity to choose between about 40 studios to visit during the two-day Aug. 25-26 tour.
o Date: Thursday, August 2 through 29 (Closed Aug. 3 & 4)
o Time: 10 am – 6 pm Mon-Sat (Open Sun. Aug. 26, 10 am – 2 pm)
o Location: Santa Barbara Frame Shop and Gallery, 1324 State Street Ste J, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 (Across from Arlington Theatre)

• August 24: Opening Artists’ Reception
The artists will be in attendance during this festive soiree with one piece of each artist’s work on display. Collectors and tour participants are invited to meet the artists and enjoy food and wine.
o Date: Friday, August 24
o Time: 5 pm - 8 pm
o Location: Santa Barbara Frame Shop and Gallery, 1324 State Street Ste J, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 (Across from Arlington Theatre)

Tickets are $18 if purchased on or before August 2, $20 August 3 and on, or $15 each when purchased in groups of two or more. Ticket price includes the Opening Artists’ Reception and the Tour. No ticket purchase is necessary to attend the Preview Exhibition Opening on August 2.
