June 7-8, 2008 (10am-5pm) Tour of Studios & Preview Exhibit
Rare opportunity to meet talented local artists, see first-hand how they create their work, enjoy demonstrations and collect unique masterpieces. Emphasis is on fine arts, which includes painters, sculptors, glass blowers, mixed media artists and limited fine crafts and photography. Patrons will find gallery-grade works, quick studies, experimental samples, and everything in between. Many artists team up to share locations, which include commercial studios and private homes (courtyards, garages, indoor studios, etc). A colorful brochure map helps navigate visitors to all the Danville, Alamo & San Ramon studio locations (see map at www.OpenStudiosTour.com).

Event Background:
The Alamo-Danville Artists Society (ADAS) and the Town of Danville have co-sponsored this event since 1993. All sales commissions fund grants for art programs in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. By 2008, the success of this event has grown and the San Ramon Arts Foundation (SRAF) has joined as a co-sponsor, with support from the City of San Ramon. The partnership of ADAS and SRAF was sparked by a common interest in funding art programs in our shared school district. Together, the complementing strengths of our two non-profits, with the Towns participation and resources, are ensuring residents have access to a greater number of local artists throughout the San Ramon Valley.
Memberships in ADAS & SRAF are open to everyone.
