Presentations and discussions compare and contrast a day in the life of the Maasai tribe of East Africa with that of an audience member. The program is suitable for all ages, but particularly relevant for seventh and eighth graders studying World History. Topics covered may include any or all of the following: rites of passage, introduction to Maasai or Swahili vocabulary, the significance of traditional clothing, how to tie a shuka or apply traditional red ocher war paint, vocalizations of animal calls, bow and arrow techniques, or native crafts and jewelry.
