Dave Brubeck is one of the most well-known jazz pianists of all time. The classic Dave Brubeck Quartet produced the first ever million-selling jazz tune (Take Five) and toured the world many times. The Quartet's experimentation with time signatures unusual to jazz produced works like "Blue Rondo a la Turk" and "The Duke", introducing millions of enthusiastic listeners to unexplored regions of jazz.
But Dave Brubeck is not one to get stuck in a rut, he has continued to develop as a musician, exploring new avenues in composition and performance. Brubeck's style ranges from refined to bombastic, reflecting his mother's attempts at classical training and his improvisational skills. He is still touring, and still releasing albums, at the age of 84. He is one of the most influential musicians of jazz history.
