The San Francisco Peoples' Organization is a coalition of community based organizations, labor, advocacy groups, and individuals committed to building a progressive vision for San Francisco. We are creating a long-term strategic alliance of people of color, women, labor, working poor, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender persons, seniors, persons with disabilities, faith-based communities, youth, and any group or individual that will fight for economic and social justice. We believe that through grassroots, constituency-based, multi-issue organizing efforts we can transform San Francisco into a progressive city that places human needs and the common good first.
Last year, June 2006, San Francisco Peoples’ Organization kicked off our first founding convention, uniting over 500 individuals to work towards building a progressive plan for San Francisco. This year, San Francisco Peoples’ Organization (SFPO) seeks to build on that momentum and looks for your advice, leadership and direction in developing our agenda and campaigns. We want you to participate in our upcoming convention on September 30, 2006, where we select new leadership, participate in our first ever joint Supervisorial candidates’ forum with the Housing Justice Summit and most importantly, mobilize our communities towards a city that values the voices of all San Franciscans.
With all our voices together, we cannot be defeated.
Admission: $10, but no one turned away for lack of funds
