Samburu Giraffe Feeding Station July 8, 2010

At The Samburu Giraffe Feeding Station, visitors will have the opportunity to walk up a custom built ramp that leads to an elevated platform overlooking the African Plains exhibit. Visitors will be able to view a giraffe's 14-inch long tongue as it extends out to gently take food out of their hands while getting a close look at what many consider the most beautiful eyelashes in nature. For a nominal fee, guests can feed the zoo's giraffes delicious veggie treats like romaine or iceberg lettuce, kale or collard greens.
