Award-winning photographer Sam Comen’s first solo exhibition, 28 at 28, has been extended beyond its original three-month run and is now on view through the end of February at Culver City’s NextSpace. 28 at 28 is a serial portraiture study of Comen’s peers that he began three years ago when he was 28-years-old. He has continued to document their evolving lives in his crisp, saturated style since then, and will do so in the decades to come. The exhibit, which opened on October 22, 2011 – on Comen’s 31st birthday – features 90 environmental photographs in NextSpace’s two-story atrium, which transform the airy space into a larger-than life timeline of Comen’s subjects in a taxonomic display. The public is invited to the closing reception on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Beverages will be served. NextSpace, a creative collaborative community workspace, is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. The exhibit is also accessible during those hours. The venue is located at 9415 Culver Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. To learn more about the artist, please visit www.samcomen.com. To view 28 at 28 online, please visit www.28at28.com.
