Sam Bush extended the musical capabilities of the mandolin and the fiddle to incorporate a seamless blend of bluegrass, rock, jazz and reggae. Edgar Meyer, a virtuoso bassist and composer, is fluent in two musical languages -- classical and bluegrass. Though he got his start in bluegrass, Jerry Douglas has made an impact in fields ranging from rock 'n' roll to jazz, from blues to Celtic, from mainstream country to contemporary classical.
