Spellbinding short stories by established and emerging writers take on a new life when they are performed by stars of the stage and screen. Tonight the award-winning author and essayist opens the Selected Shorts season. As guest editor of "The Best American Short Stories 2008," Rushdie introduces two of his most compelling picks for this year’s anthology by Kevin Brockmeier and Tobias Wolff. Stories performed by Jane Alexander and Anthony Rapp (original cast of "Rent").
