BRIX Hosts Walk for Lupus Kick Off Party
with Saints Football Star Jammal Brown

Jammal Brown, former OU football star and current NFL member of the New Orleans Saints and Miss Teen Oklahoma Lyndzee Vieweg will both be special guesst at the Kickoff Party for the upcoming Walk for Lupus Now event. The party will take place Friday evening, May 15th starting at 7 pm, at BRIX, a restaurant and sports bar located at 27 W. Sheridan, in Bricktown.

BRIX will provide live entertainment that evening by The Rexall Rangers who will be performing blues americana music. There will be an $8 cover charge with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the Lupus Foundation.

Jammal Brown, who’s mother died from lupus, will be at the Walk for Lupus Kickoff Party because he wants to help raise awareness about this little known disease. The Lupus Walk takes place the next morning, Saturday, May 16th, at the Oklahoma City Zoo. Jammal regrets he will not be able to participate in the Walk as he will be attending his graduation ceremony at the University of Oklahoma that morning.

Lyndzee Vieweg, who was recently crowned Miss Teen Oklahoma, will be also be at BRIX on Friday evening.. Lyndzee, who’s mother has lupus, made lupus education and awareness her platform during the recent pageant which took place in Stillwater.

Walk for Lupus Now is hosted by the Oklahoma Chapter of the Lupus Foundation. Registration will begin at 8:00 am and the step off will start at 9:00 am. “The best way to enjoy the Walk for Lupus Now is to register and invite others to walk with you.” said Lea Jensen, Executive Director, OK Chapter LFA. “Or you can participate from the comfort of your own home by registering as a Virtual Walker online at www.oklupus.com by clicking on the ‘Walk’ link.”

Admission to the Zoo is free to all attending the walk and everyone can stay as long as they like to enjoy the creature comforts. There will be free snacks and drinks, live entertainment, face painting for the kids and free massages. Walkers get a free t-shirt for every $100 raised. There are no registration fees for any participant of any age and all donations are tax deductible.
