“Sage Daughters of the Muses” presented by Arnot Art Museum, The Friends of the Steele Memorial Library March 25, 2009

The Friends of the Steele Memorial Library in collaboration with the Arnot Art Museum will sponsor an evening of poetry readings of poems inspired by art created by and about women, from the museum’s collection. The presentation will be called “Sage daughters of the Muses”: the gentle concord of poetry and art. Local female poets of all ages will be invited to visit the museum, select an artwork, and then write a poem inspired by the piece. A reading, open to the public, with light refreshments will take place on Wednesday evening, October 25th from 6-8 PM. A small chapbook will be printed combining the poetry and the art for distribution at the reading. The art exhibit, with corresponding poems will be on display from March 25th to June 27th, 2009.
