Safer and stronger communities: Creating caring neighbourhoods for all ages June 17, 2008

In our society, young and old are increasingly estranged from one another. However, there is potentially much to be gained from bringing different generations together. By giving and receiving support both groups can gain a better understanding of each other, and break through society’s prevailing stereotypes.

This ground-breaking and timely conference will explore the potential of intergenerational work in communities to bring about positive exchanges between groups. It will highlight the importance and benefits of such work, and demonstrate how national and local partners can work together to implement intergenerational policies and programmes.
