Dr. Oscar White Muscarella, a specialist in the art and archaeology of the ancient Near East, was on the staff of the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 1964 until his recent retirement. In this SAFE Tour, he will introduce us to objects that made it into one of the world's most respected museums despite suspicious provenance -- and engage us in discussion about how the illicit trade in antiquities destroys our chance of learning about ancient civilizations.
