Thousands of adolescents across the country have been trained by Safe SitterĀ® to handle life threatening emergencies. Our goal is to reduce the number of unintentional deaths of children being cared for by their babysitters.
During this two day course adolescents age 11 through 13 will receive hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques from trained Safe SitterĀ® instructors, so they are prepared to respond to crisis situations.
Participants receive helpful tips to make them confident caregivers. They learn what to do if an infant or child chokes or needs CPR, what to say when calling 911, how to screen and refuse jobs in a business manner, how to prevent injuries, how to deal with child behavior problems and first aid issues.
In order to successfully complete the 12-hour medically accurate program, students must pass a practical and written test, showing that they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle emergencies.
This class costs $60 for the two-day course. All supplies and lunch is included.
Registration is required for this event and space is limited. RSVP to ResourceLink toll-free at 480.728.5414.
