When roadhouse chanteuse Rusti Love takes the stage, she pours out pure soul and emotion to the soundtrack of some serious blues. She aches with the pain of a broken heart and triumphs into new love with a voice that shakes the rafters. This summer Love returns to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust's SummerStage on August 12 with "On a Wing and a Prayer," a show that is sure to leave Love fans wanting more of the fiery redhead.
"I decided to name this show 'On a Wing and a Prayer' because sometimes that is just how life is," Love says. "I don't know yet what songs will be in the show because I want the show to be like life, spontaneous. Sometimes what we expect isn't what we get, so I hope to offer a few surprises."
Unlike last year's production, which was a musical biography of Love's career and life, "On a Wing and a Prayer" promises to showcase the singer the way she is most comfortable, singing songs she loves and songs she knows her fans love.
Love, who is a breast cancer survivor and advocate, will donate a portion of the night's ticket sales to help fight breast cancer in Oklahoma. Tickets are $20 for table seating and $10 for general admission. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30. For more information on Love, check out her Web site at rustilove.com
