Russell Wilson is an adjunct professor of piano at VCU Music. A native of Memphis, Tennessee and an outstanding classical and jazz pianist, Wilson received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Memphis State University, has served on the faculties at Virginia Union University and the University of Richmond and performs regularly with the Russell Wilson Quartet and the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra. The evening's program will include Rhapsodie Op. 79, No. 1 in b minor by Johannes Brahms; Partita No. 6, e minor by J.S. Bach; El Albaicin by Isaac Albeniz; and Sonata No. 4, c minor by Sergei Prokofiev.
