Toronto-born comedian and actor Russell Peters' comedy focuses largely around his Indian upbringing and racial stereotypes, as he often parodies his parents and South Asian culture. Much of his material explores the cultural divides between many different ethnicities and upbringings in a way that includes many impressions. In April 2005, Russell was the first South Asian to headline and sell-out the Apollo Theatre and in February 2008, he became one of only a handful of comedians to ever headline and sell-out Madison Square Garden.
