Woodlawn Nature Center is hosting this week a presentation by Brad Haines on Running on Alternative Fuel Using Recycled Cooking Oil, to be held this Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 2:00 pm. This presentation is a part of Woodlawn’s series of educational “green” presentations being held at Woodlawn Nature Center.
Running on Alternative Fuel Using Recycled Cooking Oil will provide information and a close-up look at an automobile altered to run on alternative fuel: in this case, recycled cooking oil. Unofficially named “the Veggie Mobile,” this working example of alternate fuel use will give visitors a change to see, hear and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of this alternative transportation method.
Woodlawn’s ongoing “green” series is designed to provide local businesses and homeowners with basic information and access to local green energy sources. Woodlawn Nature Center is located at 604 Woodlawn Avenue, Elkhart, just one block off Cassopolis Street in Elkhart city, north. Admission to the Green Energy series is free. Donations will be gladly accepted.
