The Boston Initiative to Advance Human Rights will hold Running Against Traffic, a 5K road race to benefit BITAHR’s programs and initiatives, on Saturday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m. The race begins at Larz Anderson Park, 140 Goddard Ave.
Running Against Traffic is a race to support those who are vulnerable to commercial sexual exploitation, and to empower those who have already been affected by it. BITAHR is dedicated to programs that focus on helping women and children attain protection and fulfillment of their human rights; the group has a particular interest in the right of women and children to be free from forced prostitution and commercial sexual exploitation.
Registration and check-in will begin at 7:45 a.m. on the day of the race in The Shelter at the park’s Goodard Avenue entrance. The fee is $35 per person. For more information, visit www.bitahr.org/events/rat. To register online, go to www.coolrunning.com.
