Santa Ana, California: Neil Simon, America’s best-known award winning playwright, excels in presenting the frustrations and vagaries of life with delicious humor. His comic concoction RUMORS takes place during a dinner party where four snazzily dressed couples gather at the home of Charley and Myra Brock to celebrate the couple’s tenth wedding anniversary. However, Charley is upstairs, incapacitated, with a bullet hole in his ear lobe, and Myra is nowhere to be seen. We are thrust into high-voltage hilarity as the friends try frantically to protect their host (who is deputy mayor of New York), and themselves, by hiding the evening’s events from the outside world.
Barbara Covington of Burbank directs a comical ensemble that includes; Suzanne Stump of Anaheim, Rhea Richardson of Garden Grove, Brandon Ferruccio of Gardena, Tawney Lewis of Hawthorne, Anthony Davis of Laguna Niguel, Eddie Chamberlain, Brent Hardwick, Brian Salero and Robin St. John of Santa Ana and Georgia Kelley of Trabuco Canyon.
Stage Manager Anna Renaud and Assistant Stage Manager Jon Hyrkas are from Santa Ana.
