Roz Corral will be back in full swing at North Square's Sunday Jazz Brunch. She will be bringing with her a particularly distinguished group of some of New York's most highly respected instrumentalists -all of whom perform in major jazz clubs, festivals and concert halls throughout the world. Hear them with Roz in our intimate setting and see why she has been a favorite of ours for the past five years. Her lively repertoire includes ballads, blues and standards with a heavy dose of Brazilian rhythms.

Howard will be performing for the first time with Roz Corral in an intimate duo setting. "Howard is such an extraordinarily creative guitarist, I can't wait to perform with him, says Corral. George Kanzler of the Newark Star Ledger proclaims that he is "the most impressive and creative member of a new generation of jazz guitarists." And Chip Deffaa of the New York Post observes that he is "...one of the very finest young guitarists working today." As leader he has recorded over 20 CDs and as sideman has recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme, Carol Sloane, and Ken Peplowski just to name a few. You may remember him from the sound track of Woody Allen's film, "Sweet and Lowdown," the film in which Sean Penn was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of a legendary jazz guitarists of the 1930s. Alden not only performed all of the solos but coached Penn on playing the guitar of his role.
