RoundTrip! -- Africa to Brazil April 21, 2010

RoundTrip! starts up again this month with the them Africa to Brazil featuring live music & dancers.

Two powerhouse bands:
Sambatuque (Brazilian)
Thione Diop & Yeke Yeke (West African)

And energetic dancers:
Dora Oliveira (Afro-Brazilian)
Tudo Beleza (Rio Samba)

Sambatuque is quickly being recognized as the premier Brazilian band here in the North West, always delivering on both musical intensity and variety. They will perform Samba, Batucada, Afoxe, Samba Reggae, Groovy Bossas and Frevo. Adding to the excitement of their performance, is the Rio Style Samba dancing from the beautiful Tudo Beleza Dancers and traditional dancing from former Bahian Samba Queen, Dora Oliviera. You'll have so much fun you'll swear you are in Brazil! As always, they dare you not to dance!

Thione Diop, Master drummer from Senegal, West Africa, and his group Yeke Yeke, are widely recognized for their powerful and expressive performances that range from West African traditional music to AfroBeat . They will take you on a musical journey through the textures and rhythms of Senegal and other parts of Africa, making you want to dance with their fresh and heart-pumping grooves!

In between these two great groups, will be dj Tomas spinning the infectiously groovy world mix!
