Academy Award nominated actress and Emmy nominated choreographer Rosie Perez will be the speaker for the Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Speaker Series at The Centre on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00pm. The topic of Perez’s lecture will be, “I am Puerto Rican, just so you know.”
Perez has done work with AIDS Action Foundation, Gay Men’s Health Crisis and the Latino Commission on Aids. She is also active with the Working Playground, and arts education organization that brings dance, theater, film, poetry and fine arts to students in Harlem, the Bronx and the lower East Side of Manhattan.
In films, Perez has starred in ‘Human Nature’ with Tim Robbins and Patricia Arquette, Penny Marshall’s ‘Riding in Cars with Boys’ with Drew Barrymore; starred in and also produced ‘The 24-Hour Woman’.
