Rory Block & The Straitway Gospel Choir Down at the Crossroads: Blues Meets Gospel August 12, 2006

This show features members of the Robert Johnson family, the music of Robert Johnson as performed by world renowned blues artist Rory Block and the anointed, soul-stirring Gospel of the Straitway Ministries Choir of Utica, Mississippi.

The evening begins with an introduction by a member of the Robert Johnson family, followed by an acoustic set of Johnson material performed by Rory Block. The second set begins with Block and the Straitway Ministries Choir performing early Gospel songs a capella and with the acoustic guitar, and then transitioning to a contemporary sound when the Straitway Ministries Choir rocks the stage with their powerful Holy Ghost Gospel.
