rorie kelly is an intense, intelligent independent musician with something to say. Her songs have a lot of words, and she goes back and forth between singing like an angel and screaming her head off. She plays a violet acoustic guitar and breaks a lot of strings while doing so. Her influences include the Dresden Dolls, Tegan and Sara, Fiona Apple, and Ben Folds Five.

This Thursday, July 12th, at 8:45 rorie will be performing at 169 Bar--that's 169 East Broadway (note that it's East Broadway, not Broadway!) off of Rutgers Street. (Visit www.hopstop.com for directions.) The show has an $8 cover, but if you reply with your name by Wednesday night, we can get you on the guest list so you only pay half price ($4).
