Throughout the history of jazz, few musicians have ever been as beloved or important as the renaissance man of the bass, Ron Carter. Since the 1960s, when he anchored the classic rhythm section that included Herbie Hancock and Tony Williams in the Miles Davis Quintet, he has worked with essentially everyone. Although a generation behind RC, pianist Mike LeDonne, who leads this trio, and drummer Joe Farnsworth are avid students of his music and two of the most important and exciting younger musicians on the scene.
