United Skates has partnered with United Way to help with the Haitian relief efforts. On Tuesday, February 2 from 6:30-9:00pm United Skates will host the event Rollin’ for Relief. Each attendee is asked to bring a minimum of a $5 monetary donation or an in-kind donation of equal or higher value. The donation will cover the cost of admission and regular skate rental. The United Way Haiti Relief Fund will receive 100% of all monetary donations. Love a Child is a partner to United Way in the Haiti relief efforts and will receive all in-kind donations.
Recreation Express is donating a bus for the event. The bus will be filled with all of the donated items and will be delivered to Love a Child. United Skates hopes to fill the bus completely.
The in-kind donations that are being accepted are: hydrogen peroxide, alcohol pads, adhesive bandages, gauze bandages, Ace bandages, medical tape, canned baby food, distilled bottled water, sheets, blankets, 5-gallon buckets, large heavy duty garbage bags, liquid soap and disposable diapers. All items must be new and un-opened. All medical supplies must have a minimum of 18 months left on their expiration dates.
