The Little Theatre, known for its annual Christmas pantomimes, is back with “Robinson Crusoe — Spaced Out”. Issy Sanderson of the British Council started them in the city in 1991. And, The Little Theatre, along with some organisations, has been holding the pantomimes since 1995. So far, it has staged shows such as ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Romeo and Julieto in Mexico’, and ‘Pirates of the Curriedbeans’ among others. A pantomime takes its themes from traditional folk tales and other children’s stories. And, good vs. bad is the recurring theme. This year, it is the turn of Robinson Crusoe to come alive on stage, but with a twist. ‘Robinson Crusoe — Spaced out’ will be performed at The Museum Theatre. The show is produced by Aysha Rau, directed by Amit Singh and scripted by Aysha, Amit and the cast. Music is by Prithvi Chandrasekhar, while the choreography has been handled by Naimet Currimbhoy, Ashley Shillong and Rohini Rau.
