Hear Canadian theatrical director extraordinaire, Robert Lepage, in MetTalks as he discusses his new production of Wagner’s Siegfried. This is part of a Met Opera series wherein directors, conductors, and stars of the Met’s 2011–12 new productions discuss the challenges and rewards of bringing their visions to the stage. In part three of the Ring cycle, Wagner’s cosmic vision focuses on his hero’s early conquests, while director Lepage’s revolutionary stage machine transforms itself from bewitched forest to mountain love nest, employing cutting-edge 3D technology. In this session, Lepage will discuss the production with stars Deborah Voigt and Gary Lehman and Met General Manager Peter Gelb.
