King Crimson founder Robert Fripp started the League of Crafty Guitarists in 1986 as a showcase for players who have taken part in his Guitar Craft programs. The group performs on acoustic steel string guitars tuned in the New Standard Tuning (NST), which extends the sonic range of the traditional guitar tuning.
